I want to share with you my top vocal mixing secret.
Vocals are one of the most (if not, the most) important components of a mix.
We must keep in mind that the average listener will be focusing on vocals more than anything else while listening to a song. It’s also extremely important to get your plugin chain right on your master buss so that you’re mix can compete with other commercial releases level-wise.
Achieving a loud mix is NOT as simple as slapping a limiter on your output and slamming your mix through it.. At least not if you want your mix to sound good.
