Mixing EZdrummer and amp sim plugins that sound professional can seem impossible.
I’d say it’s pretty safe to assume that when most people think of “bedroom recordings”, they think of mixes that are using midi drums and amp sims.
After all, a huge majority of home studio owners don’t have the luxury of having a space to record live drums and cranked up tube amps in.
The problem is that these “bedroom recordings” usually have a bad rap because let’s be honest….most of them don’t end up sounding very good.
Fake. Weird. Robotic. Harsh. Muddy.
Just a pale imitation of a real band…you know the sound.
And because most “bedroom recordings” don’t end up sounding very good, people automatically assume that programs like EZdrummer and cheap amp sims are incapable of producing professional results.
Well, I’m here to tell you that it all comes down to user error.
You can absolutely produce 100% pro results using nothing more than EZdrummer and cheap (or Free) amp sims.
The key is to know what to do….and what NOT to do.
In my latest tutorial, Mixing EZdrummer & Amp Sims, I share 3 key tips for achieving the results you really want..
Even if it’s just a “bedroom recording”.
