We all know how important a solid drum mix is. Without it, you don’t have a strong foundation set.
The truth is that your snare sound is the most important element to get right when dialing in your overall drum mix.
As a matter of fact, I’ve found that the snare drum mix can completely make or break the drum sound as a whole.
Bad snare sound = bad drum sound = BAD MIX
We definitely don’t want that…..EVER.
I find that a lot of people tend to turn snare mixing into rocket science and it’s just not necessary.
