As a studio owner, one of the most common questions I get is: “How can I attract more clients to my studio?”.
One of the biggest struggles home studio owners face is attracting enough clients to generate a decent income.
Most people looking to do this as a profession are brainwashed into thinking that they need:
A degree in audio
Room full of fancy analog gear
Massive live room
Long list of well known clients
To run ads on social media
But in reality, you don’t need ANY of these things to be a successful audio engineer or producer. The awesome thing about living in this day in age is that you can produce 100% pro sounding recordings in almost any environment with minimal gear.
As a matter of fact, my studio is nothing more than a glorified project studio and I’ve gotten busier and busier with each passing year.
You know what? Never once has a band asked where I got my audio degree or what outboard gear I use. No one’s asked what interface I use or what the frequency response of my drum room is like.
No one cares
With that being said, there are 3 very important things that you can do to really help attract more clients to your studio. I rarely hear people talking about any of these 3 things online and it’s a shame.
They’re extremely important to know if you’re looking to work with clients in the studio.
The good news is that they require $0 in advertising and will often land you clients for life.
