Join me for a full studio tour of my home away from home, Frightbox Recording.
People often ask me:
“How big is your drum room? How do you capture such a big, natural drum sound?”
“Your mixes sound so warm, what outboard gear are you using?”
“Are you running an analog or digital console?”
“Do you use a vocal booth for recording vocals?”
“What external preamps do you use?”
“Do you have an iso room for recording guitar cabs?”
Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you (if you’re a gear nut), but my studio does not contain ANY of the above.
I’ve been receiving these same questions for well over a decade and people are always shocked when they learn the truth..
My studio is nothing more than a glorified project or home studio.
But you know what?… It hasn’t held me back in the slightest.
As a matter of fact, I’ve been gradually using less and less gear over the years while simultaneously growing my business more and more.
In this video, I give the full tour of my humble little recording studio where I produce heavy bands full-time.
The great thing about the time we live in is that you can make great recordings ANYWHERE and my “studio” is a prime example of this fact. Enjoy!
Also, be sure to download my FREE guitar cab IR taken from my favorite Mesa Boogie Cab seen in the video. Guitar tone can be tricky, but not if you’re using a solid impulse response.
Download the free IR and get right to dialing in solid metal guitar tone with ease.
