As metal producers and mixers, we all naturally gravitate towards auditioning out countless plugins and getting crazy with different mix tricks when it comes time to smooth out harsh screaming vocals.
Instead of overcomplicating your vocal EQ with a bunch of small boosts and cuts, the key is to focus on big moves that matter.
Even though harsh screaming vocals can be (seemingly) hard to deal with, do we necessarily need to resort to overcomplicated EQ and mix trickery in order to help them fit into the mix?
