I love impulse response hacks and I bet you’ve never thought of using an IR in the way I’m about to show you..
Have you ever felt like pulling your hair out when trying to blend multiple heavy guitar layers together within your mix?
It’s so easy for guitar tracks to get all jumbled up.
Guitar is a midrange instrument.
It can sometimes be tough combining tracks that have similar tonal characteristics all within the same frequency range.
Luckily there are a bunch of ways that you can go about achieving depth and separation in a heavy guitar mix..
But one of my favorite ways is to get creative using multiple impulse responses.
In PART 2 of this mini series, I show you how I’m achieving extra contrast, separation and depth in a mix I’m currently working on simply by getting creative with a few impulse responses from my new Octopack.
This is one of my favorite impulse response hacks of all time.
