Is recording and mixing for free a good idea when producing bands?

There are generally two opinions out there in regards to recording and mixing a band for free.

Opinion #1: It’s a terrible idea and that you should NEVER work for free.

Opinion #2: Producing bands for free is a great way to get your name out there when trying to make a name for yourself in the industry. I have my own unique take on the topic of free work.

In this video, I share my opinion on exactly what I’d do if I were building my studio client base from scratch all over again.

Recording and mixing for free can work if you do it right.
