Even though I’ve worked with countless artists in a plethora of different musical genres, these days, I record ONLY record metal bands in my studio.
It’s been close to 10 years since I’ve had anyone outside of a rock or metal band in my studio…
And it’s 100% intentional.
When I tell people that I work only with rock and metal bands, they usually look at me like I’m a complete idiot:
“Why would you limit your clientele in such a way?”
“Wouldn’t a wider variety of different artists result in MORE income for you and your studio?”
“Aren’t you scared of being pigeonholed as a ‘metal guy’?”
These are all valid questions and it’s exactly how I used to think when I first got into working with clients.
The truth is that most clients will opt to work with a specialist (instead of a generalist).
In this video, I explain why I work ONLY record metal bands.
I also explain how it’s done absolutely nothing but help push my audio production career forward.
I think you’ll find this short video informative if you’re looking into doing audio production full-time.
