Do you struggle recording heavy guitars, bass and vocals at home?
Do you spend countless hours trying to shape your tracks with EQ, but are rarely happy with the results?
This was the story of my life!
I’m sure you’ve heard (from guys like me) that you should “get it right at the source”.
It’s true. If you want a pro-sounding recording, you really do need to capture your tracks properly in the first place.
But what the hell does that actually mean?
How exactly do you go about capturing guitars, bass and vocals right “at the source”?
What should you be paying attention to?
What’s important?

All while working in less-than-ideal conditions. Guitars, bass and vocal tracks recorded in two different basements that feature absolutely no acoustic treatment.
In Part 3 of this series, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite hacks for mixing and mastering a track recorded with the gear I’ve previously mentioned.
