Metal Vocal Delay Trick For Vibe And Character

Using a solid vocal delay trick can really help you when getting screaming tracks to sit right in your mix.

Delay can be used in so many great ways when sculpting your mix.

My favorite uses of delay usually add up to a result that you’d never consciously notice as a listener

Sometimes the most subtle of effects can make a big difference in your rock or metal productions.

Delay effects can add a subliminal type of ambiance to your vocal tracks.

Using delay tastefully can help blend your vocals in without being too intrusive or obvious of an effect.

In other words, they’re helping your mix without the listener even being aware of the effect itself.

Saturation, reverb, EQ and Flange combined with a little creativity can work wonders when setting up your delay buss.

All of these are simple effects that can be accomplished with the plugins that come stock right within your DAW.

Give this vocal delay trick a shot next time you’re in need of adding some ambiance to your vocal track.
