How do you achieve WIDER mixes?
..almost like they exceed beyond the physical width of our speakers?
For some unknown reason (probably due to amateurs spreading misinformation online), people tend to think stereo width will magically come from equipment and plugins:
-stereo width plugins
-fancy m/s processing
-analog summing
Yes, these things can help..
But pro mixers don’t rely on them to achieve those wide, massive sounding mixes that we’re all after.
In this tutorial, I share my philosophy and approach to achieving wider mixes the REAL way.
SPOILER ALERT: It has nothing to do with gear.
